Social Research Analyst

Responsibilities:

Data Analysis & Research Support – 35%

·      Conduct data cleaning, processing, and exploratory analysis using statistical techniques and programming languages such as R, SQL, Python, and Stata.

·      Maintain public, proprietary, and survey-based datasets through effective data management practices.

·      Support the development of quantitative and qualitative research products, including financial reports, evidence summaries, policy briefs, dashboards, logic models, and evaluation materials.

·      Assist in project-specific research and evaluation frameworks and corresponding performance tracking systems.

Issue & Contextual Research – 35%

·      Conduct research on key social, financial, and economic issues—such as housing stability, financial inclusion, early childhood education, and workforce access—to inform CCRI’s projects.

·      Compile background information on public systems, funding landscapes, and community initiatives to support project design and partner collaboration.

·      Simplify complex topics into clear, accessible briefs, talking points, or presentation content for internal and external use.

·      Help identify emerging financial trends, community priorities, and system challenges that shape CCRI’s research focus and stakeholder engagement.

·      Support storytelling and contextual framing for data tools, ensuring findings reflect the lived realities of communities CCRI serves.

Visualization, Communication, and Collaboration – 30%

·      Create accessible data visualizations, including dashboards, charts, and infographics, using tools such as Tableau, ArcGIS, and Excel.

·      Present findings into plain-language insights for technical and non-technical audiences.

·      Support the development of public-facing communication tools, including story maps, visual reports, and slide presentations.

·      Collaborate with CCRI team members and partners to identify internal and external data needs, support research project design and execution, and contribute to coordination tasks such as data entry, quality assurance, documentation, and timeline tracking.

·      Participate in team-wide learning activities and internal knowledge exchange through team discussions, code reviews, internal workshops, and collaborative problem solving.

·      Engage in ongoing mentorship in data management and analysis, research ethics, and analytic best practices.

Qualifications:

Must have a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, a social science field, or the equivalent and 2 years of experience in applied research, data analysis, or program evaluation, including hands-on experience using tools such as R, SQL, Python, Excel, or similar analytical tools in a professional, academic, or research setting.
